Tye Dye Lesson

Sunday june 13, me and my good friends learned Tye dye with mas Arwin (master of tye dye). tye dye is the art of dyeing cloth by dipping the cloth into the dye solution (that's why called tye dye). you can play the colors by dipping the cloth repeatedly into the solution of different colors. the cloth will be more colorful.

we learned to dye fabric with two techniques, by naptol, and indiegosol. naptol is a kind of powder. naptol will be mixed with water and useful as a binder of color. i forgot about indiegosol technique, so i can't explain it. hahaha.

Btw, I am preparing a housewares store and hopefully it can really work well. Why housewares? because i am a housewife! hahaha, i hate that word, reminds me of the word "desperate".

Very enjoyable holiday in Jogja! until I forgot to fill this blog for three weeks. June 2, I got a bouquet of flowers from my husband. celebrating three years of our relationship. hopefully stay together forever, happily ever after!

Berbagi Cara Menyablon

Siapkan peralatan dan bahan untuk menyablon: screen, rakel, busa, kain hitam, kaca, obat afdruk, cat sablon, pembersih screen, gambar pada kertas yang nantinya akan dicetak...(saya rasa ini cukup untuk sekedar belajar).

Satu, olesi kertas bergambar yang akan dicetak dengan menggunakan minyak goreng secara merata. Kertas ini nanti akan menjadi seperti kertas kalkir, jadi kalau mau diganti pakai kertas kalkir juga oke, mika bening juga boleh. yang penting tembus cahaya.

Dua, siapkan obat afdruknya (ulano): campur cairan oranye di botol kecil dengan cairan ungu muda di botol besar. perbandingan 1:9, jangan langsung dicampur semua, gunakan seperlunya karena ketika sudah dicampur cat ini tidak tahan lama.

Tiga, oleskan obat afdruk (yang telah dicampur tadi) pada screen secara merata menggunakan alat bantu mika atau penggaris plastik. tipis saja, yang penting rata. lakukan proses ini diruangan gelap (tidak terkena sinar matahari atau lampu). tidak harus gelap total sih, nanti malah tidak kelihatan.

Empat, keringkan screen yang sudah diolesi obat afdruk dengan menggunakan hair dryer (masih dilakukan diruangan gelap). Lima, setelah screen kering, pasang gambar secara terbalik diatasnya, tutup dengan kaca (agar kertas benar menempel diatas screen dan tidak bergeser). lalu jemur dibawah sinar matahari selama kurang lebih 15detik (atau bisa disorot dengan lampu sebagai ganti matahari selama 10 menit). saat menjemur screen, jangan lupa untuk memberi bantalan busa yang dibungkus kain hitam dibawah screen tersebut, ini berguna untuk menangkap cahaya.

Enam, setelah screen dijemur, otomatis gambar pada kertas seperti tercopy kedalam screen. cuci screen dengan keran penyemprot air, cuci sampai bersih dan bagian pada gambar tidak tertutup lagi oleh obat afdruk sehingga nantinya cat sablon dapat menembus screen pada bagian itu.

Tujuh, setelah screen dicuci dan dikeringkan, maka proses penyablonan dapat dimulai. alasi bagian belakang kain yang akan disablon dengan papan atau karton (hal ini untuk mencegah cat tidak tembus). pasang screen tepat diatas kain yang akan disablon.

Delapan, campur cat sablon: cat sablon terdiri dari cat itu sendiri dan pewarnanya. cat sablon sebagai pengikat pewarna agar tidak luntur. pastikan cat sablon tercampur dengan merata sesuai warna yang dikehendaki. jangan terlalu encer atau kental.

Sembilan, oleskan cat sablon pada screen yang sudah ditempelkan pada kain, lalu ratakan dengan rakel (pengesut).

Sepuluh, angkat screen dengan hati-hati. proses sablon telah selesai. tunggu sampai gambar kering.

Sebelas, setelah digunakan, jangan lupa untuk mencuci screen dengan pembersih stensil. biasanya dijual dalam bentuk bubuk dikemas di plastik kecil, kita bisa mencampurnya dengan air satu liter (biasa dijual untuk campuran satu liter air). berbeda dengan obat afdruk, pembersih ini bisa dicampur air dan disimpan dalam botol dan cukup awet untuk waktu yang lama. untuk membersihkan screen, gosok screen dengan cairan ini, lalu bilas dan keringkan.
